It’s never a dull day at Chelsea Football Club, however as our attentions are focused on the FIFA move ban and the potential of Maurizio Sarri, we’ve got a bit of actual football-related matter to listen to: the Europa League Round of 16 draw!
After 16 teams dropped in the first knockout round by the wayside, there are no more entries. The 16 would be the last 16, and they comprise some very good teams. Beginning in this particular round, there aren’t any seedings and no limitations about matching teams from precisely the same association (therefore Chelsea may draw Arsenal) — although teams in Ukraine and Russia will continue to be separated.
And therefore, the draw was conducted now at midday GMT, using three-time winner Andrés Palop drawing on the chunks of destiny and showing Chelsea, who had been first out of the bucket will face Dynamo Kiev from Ukraine, whom we faced in the group phases of this 2015-16 Champions League.
The Round of 16 draw in full is as follows. Teams would be home in the first leg. Matches will be played on March 7 and March 14.
CHELSEA vs. Dynamo Kiev
Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Inter Milan
Dinamo Zagreb vs. Benfica
Napoli vs. Salzburg
Valencia vs. Krasnodar
Sevilla vs. Slavia Prague
Arsenal vs. Stade Rennais
Zenit St. Petersburg vs. Villarreal
Somehow of the teams managed to avoid each other! Andrés, Excellent job!
